What a lovely reminder on a Thursday! Losing the defensiveness is a work in progress for me too, for myself as well as modeling it for my son. When I think of bring brave lately, I mostly think of my new goal to be brave enough to not always be liked. It’s hard but it’s starting to feel good to not be afraid to not please everyone. Thanks for this thought provoking piece, Liz!
This should be spoken about entirely more than it is and I’m so grateful for you being a voice for so many people’s inner dialogues. Andddd I might show up at your door with a library on this topic so consider yourself warned 🙃
As my little kids become taller-than-me teenagers, it's become clearer to me that it's important for them to see me being brave, day in, day out. It's super hard, and playing small can masquerade as something quite calm and lovely. This was such a great read, thank you Liz!
I loved this!
Have you read Daring Greatly by Brene Brown? It’s a lot about bravery and vulnerability & I think you’ll resonate with it!
Yes! Such a good read!!!
