Really loved this Liz. My husband and I are both strapped with work right now but wow looking at everything from your kid’s perspective is really impactful-thanks for this reminder!

Yes!! I keep referring back to this article I read once about the feeling kids get when they wake up and hear their moms (or dads!) clanking around in the kitchen. It brings them joy to know their home is awake and safe and I think about that in the mornings when I'm racing to get things done. We're all doing our best!

Surrendering preferences, time, space, wants but also gaining perspective, peace, clarity, love, joy, contentment." xoxo, a mom who loved the snuggles when her daughter climbed into her bed at 1am last night but also despaired for the consequential lack of sleep

This resonated with me soooo much. I need to put this into practice. I loved what you said about thinking “what would I want right now if I was a kid?” And most times it’s such a simple thing like a hug or reading with them or getting on the floor to play <3.
