...my sports mom era, catching up with girlfriends, realizations from my therapist and lots of fall shopping.
Hi! Hope you had a great weekend! It is still hot here in Charleston and my Midwest blood is yearning for a crisp morning.
We’ve had lots of snot running through our house. After holding 3468 Kleenex as my kids blew their noses the past few days, I’ve been blessed with the same lovely cold. So it goes! I told Charlie that I didn’t feel well yesterday and he said “well, you still have to be a mom.” And if that ain’t the truth.
I’m in my sports mom season of life and it is so fun! We had 4 games on Saturday and I love watching my boys do things that bring them joy. We have had a lot of trial and error with sports and I feel like Charlie and Jack are really settling in. It is so fun to watch them become big kids. George started soccer and he has absolutely no idea what is happening but is SO happy. He runs all over the field and every time he comes near the ball he throws the biggest thumbs up in the air. George is just a little ball of sunshine.
I don’t know why but I’ve been sort of out of it the past week. Maybe lacking motivation for lack of a better word? Lazy about cooking dinner, doing laundry, picking up. I think realizing that I sort of need a break. I saw my therapist last week and we talked a lot about perfectionism and obsessive tendencies (like expecting things to get done immediately, not asking for help but feeling resentful for lack of help, filling my days with things that aren’t necessary). Long story short, I need to be better about giving myself a break. We talked about how it can be common in relationships to get into a Parent/Child situation with your spouse and I feel like I’ve been barking orders at Dave lately and not so much fun. Going to work on the fun part!
I carved out a lot of time last week to catch up with friends. It was the best and reminded me how important it is to listen, let people talk, accept help, show up. I am the first to make excuses when life feels busy but making the time is so rewarding. Just a little nudge if you feel like you’re lacking that connection because it is truly like chicken soup for the soul.
A big fall shopping Coffee with Liz post! In case you didn’t know, Coffee with Liz is a series on my blog where I answer all your questions. Last week’s was all about motherhood (so many good questions).
How cute is this barn jacket?
Very into this oversized stripe polo.
I found my favorite jeans in stock here!
In case you missed it, there is a new blog post all about my favorite fall bags. I also shared a ton of fun denim styles that I’m eyeing for the season ahead. A trend that I’m jumping on!
I shared a post all about my favorite supplements and what I typically take in a day! Especially as sickness picks up, I included the supplements we give our kids and what is helpful in boosting your immune system.
Tis the season for cozy recipes and this post has so many of my favorites in one place! What other recipes are you looking for in the season ahead? It always helps me to hear from you!
I always love seeing the bestsellers from the week before! This Doen dress was a hit (as well as my favorite chartreuse sweater!). You can see the rest of our bestsellers from last week right here.
PS: If you’re looking for a classic ballet flat this season, I can’t recommend Margaux’s Demi Flats enough! They remind me of my Chanel flats (in style, quality and comfort) but at a fraction of the price. I just ordered the red pair!
Finally, I announced that I am choosing two Substack subscribers to win a cosmetic case packed with beauty products and gift cards! The winners are: clairedfranklin@gmail.come and jenniferharper3@gmail.com. I’ll be emailing you both! I’ll be doing more of these, promise!
Thanks for being here! I hope you have a great week.
xoxo

I'm loving the new Substack format, Liz! Such a great way to make sure I don't miss any of your posts since I follow other creators on here too. Random question - would you be willing to share the brand of the dress you are wearing in the first photo? It's so adorable :)
