A girls weekend in Charleston, new fall favorites, a reminder from posts past.
Hi! Happy Sunday!
I am coming off a fabulous girls weekend with three of my friends from Chicago. We had the best time and it always makes me sad when you blink and it’s over. But we had delicious meals, shopped, went on walks, took a boat out, chatted, laughed - all the best things. I thought it would be fun to share our itinerary in case you’re planning a trip to Charleston because I feel like we really did it all.
Thursday we had a late lunch at 167 Raw, shopped up and down King Street (Beau & Ro, Loeffler Randall, Minnow, La Ligne are not to be missed!) and then checked int Zero George. Zero George is one of my favorite hotels in Charleston, nestled into old historic building, connected by the prettiest courtyard. We walked down the street to Lowland Tavern for dinner, a new favorite restaurant in Charleston!
Friday morning we woke up, had a delicious complimentary breakfast at Zero George and then drove over to my house. We rented a boat through our boat club and Dave captained the boat. We then went to lunch at Saltwater Cowboy on Shem Creek, came back to my house for happy hour and then went to Obstinate Daughter on Sullivan’s Island for dinner (another favorite!).
Saturday morning we woke up, went on a 5 mile walk. We showered up and went over to Hometeam BBQ on Sullivan’s Island. Shopped around at Bennie & Coco, Goldbug and The Makers Post. Popped in to Fish Camp for a margarita and then went back to my house. We sat in the backyard and chatted for 2 hours. Then we showered up and went to the Old Village Wine Shop followed by Post House for dinner. Having my house as a home base is so nice when it comes to down time and all hanging together but I also felt like we hit all my favorite spots. So mark those restaurants as a must see! Tonight we are getting dressed up to attend a gala for Feed the Need. A busy weekend over here but excited to put on something special and celebrate for a good cause! I hope you have a great week. Do you follow me on Instagram? You can usually find me catching up with you on stories!
Here are some things you may have missed…
A post from the archives and honestly one I needed to read this weekend! All about the quote “be where your feet are.” I find myself often getting too far ahead of myself instead of appreciating the moment we are in.
New tech backgrounds for October! 6 wallpapers for your desktop and mobile devices, all free to download. Check them out here.
New Shopbop hearts screaming fall! Shop these exact items here.
This week I shared a recipe for these crunchy chicken cutlets with a light arugula salad on top. My mom has been making this for years and it is a family favorite. I shared a bunch of ways these cutlets can be made for picky eaters on helloadamsfamily.com. Let me know if you make them!
J.Crew’s new arrivals are a fall/winter wardrobe dream. Lately I’ve been really feeling the need to pair down my wardrobe. Leaning towards more classic pieces instead of my usual prints. I am not very strategic when it comes to building my wardrobe and usually buy pieces that I love, but maybe aren’t super realistic in day to day. Something I love about J.Crew is that they make it easy to invest in pieces that you’ll wear for years to come. There is reason their best styles come back season after season. See more of the pieces I add to my fall wardrobe right here.
A few things I’m looking forward to this week…
We are surprising Charlie and Jack with tickets to the Post Malone concert!
Cooking some new meals featuring our Community Supported Grocery items which is my new favorite weekly delivery.
A brain dump session – much needed.
Breezier temps. I am willing fall to arrive!
Going to bed early.
I hope you have a great rest of your weekend!
xx
