The Sunday Scoop - November 10, 2024
A check in, an intro to holiday, a red dress I can't wait to wear this season, gift guides and more!
(how cute is this Tuckernuck dress and silver bag!)
Hi! Be honest, how are you?
What a week. The fact that Halloween, Daylight Savings and the election all fell within a week of each other was its own little hell. I feel like I was running on fumes following trick or treating and I’m just now coming out of the fog. I put my phone away, hung out on the couch with my kids, cooked a lot, thought about a personal holiday joy list. You know, anything to distract me from the sad reality that is the divide in our country. I almost feel paralyzed by it all and honestly the best I can do right now is focus on being a mom. Working in the social world feels so heavy in these big moments and I’m reminded that my greatest work is done at home. I shared this image on my stories a couple days after the election and it was re-shared quite a bit –
…if you missed it, maybe it would help to see it, too.
Something I am grateful for in social media is the sprinkle of holiday content popping up in my feed. I need it. I am HERE for it. I am so ready to kick off holiday on my website. Did you know I have a website? It’s called Hello Adams Family, if you care to visit. I have 13 years of archives over there, which makes me so proud.
One thing on my joy list this week was ordering some new holiday decor! I went sort of minimalist last year and this year I am showing up. Here is a little peek of some of the items that caught my eye:
Specifically very excited for this ornament wreath, this garland, my new coffee mug and these wicker trees.
In case you missed it, I shared a blog post all about fall basics to carry you through the season. I shared 9 items that are heavy hitters in my closet most days. These pieces make up outfits that make up majority of my days. In between running errands, chauffeuring my kids around, meeting friends, grabbing dinner with Dave or hanging at home - basics are normally where it’s at! Check out my 9 must haves here.
We launched our 2024 holiday gift guides! We will slowly be dropping more gift guides throughout the month, leading up to Black Friday (which has basically already started).

Speaking of the holidays, this week’s Coffee with Liz post was all about answering your holiday style questions! This is my semi-weekly Q+A where my community submits questions on Instagram that I answer in a blog post. It’s been such a fun series over the years! It was really fun to have this week’s post be filled with holiday fashion! Read it here.
I have to highlight this sparkly collared cardigan because I think it is SO FUN. I also feel the need to tell you that I ordered this golden dress for the holiday season and into the new year. I love this color so much! It feels like a special dress.
I hope this next week is wonderful for you. Take care of yourself. xoxo
Liz
Thank you for this post. I am feeling very gutted and numb, but like you, I spent the weekend in a cocoon mode - no news, cooking, reading and thinking about the holidays. I will not let this moment steal that joy. I have already bought the ornament wreath from Terrain. I promise that it is even better in person. It makes you happy just looking at it. Everyone hang in there. ❤️
