The Sunday Scoop - January 12, 2025
Love to California, George turned 4!, a little joy list, a yummy family friendly recipe and a personal style goal for this year.
What a week. 2025 is really coming in hot, in every sense of the word.
My heart is so heavy for California. If you or your loved ones have experienced loss first hand from the horrific fires destroying the Los Angeles area, I am so deeply sorry. I have been glued to the coverage and in complete shock that it’s not over. I have friends who have lost their homes and truly just can’t imagine this happening to my own neighborhood. In these moments of devastation you realize the power of community. It has been incredible to witness strangers come together to help and the social media wave to raise those affected by these fires.
I am so proud of my Instagram community for raising almost $50,000 for Baby2Baby! Will we get there today?? Head to my Instagram stories to help! Baby2Baby is an incredible nonprofit who provides diapers, formula, clothing and basic hygiene for children and families living in poverty. They are on the ground in Los Angeles distributing essentials for families who have been displaced. I’m always in awe of
One of my followers sent me this incredible document with a ton of Go Fund Me’s for California fire victims. I wanted to share it with you if you’re looking for ways to support from afar.
How are you feeling?? Let me know in the comments.
In personal news, George turned 4 this week! 4 feels so much older than 3. My baby has become such a big boy over the past 6 months and I feel so proud of him. I can’t believe I have a 9, 7 and 4 year old. I can’t believe that I am responsible for these beautiful little humans (when some days I have a hard time being responsible for myself!). Our life is complete chaos but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Sometimes I think about myself as a child and how I thought of/viewed my own mom and I feel SO LUCKY that I get to be that person for them.
A little January joy list! I needed a little creative outlet this week and had fun putting this collage together. A few happy pieces on my radar –
How cute is this floral cardigan from Boden? Like a happy garden!
These tortoise sunnies look very expensive but are $50. I love the tortoise color!
I’ve been eyeing this cutie blue bag for Spring.
I love these puffy heart earrings.
My heart sweater sold out very fast but I found this look for less (under $75!).
I shared a recipe for this incredible creamy Mexican chicken in the crockpot! It is a family favorite in our house! Everyone in our family sort of eats it in different ways but that’s what is great about it! You have to make it.
This Quince coat stopped me in my tracks. It comes in 5 colors and looks just like the Toteme coat but smaller proportions!
I shared a blog post this week about a personal style goal I’m working on for this year. Wearing vs. styling my clothes! I put together this Pinterest board as inspiration and already shared this styled outfit, more to come!
Sending you all love for the week ahead. Thank you for being here. xoxo
