Hi! I’m currently watching Interstellar (have you seen it? I haven’t!) and sipping tea in a quiet house. I’m not sure why I chose this movie but it felt right. It has been a rainy day and I’m enjoying very little plans. George was home sick with a nasty stomach bug yesterday (it was so sad!) so needless to say our weekend has been very low key. I have had a really hard time committing to days of rest and always feel like we should be exerting energy for the kids but lately I’ve realized just how much we (I) need it.
I have become a tea drinker lately, especially in the afternoon and before bed, but I am totally a novice when it comes to the best teas. I have just grabbed a few from Whole Foods and I love this one from Korma (good for digestion aid). If you have any recommendations, please leave them in the comments!!
Some recipes you need to make:
I’ve shared snapshots of these smash burgers on my Instagram a few times over the years. One of those easy to make recipes when you don’t know what to make with leftover ground beef. It is a fam favorite. You can see a full video of how was make these here.
Our favorite stovetop griddle and grill press is 25% off for Presidents Day! I bought this for Dave for Christmas a couple years ago. Shop it here. We also love these pans (included in the sale).
Another yummy recipe that I make easily once a week (I could eat pasta every single night) shared in this quick reel on Instagram.
my favorite pasta recipe to make at home
Ingredients:
1 small container of cherry tomatoes
2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
pinch of dried oregano
extra virgin olive oil
2 spicy chicken sausage, removed from casings
a handful of castelvetrano olives, chopped
3 artichoke hearts, sliced
1/2 cup fresh mozzarella cheese
chopped basil
grated parmesan cheese
your favorite pasta
Start by browning your sausage! I buy my turkey sausage fresh at the butcher and then remove the casings to cook. Set aside. Then crisp up your artichoke hearts in a little olive oil (optional, can also just throw into the pasta at the end!). Set aside. In a large pan over medium heat, warm up your olive oil and add your cherry tomatoes. Let them get heated through until they start to pop! Smash them with the back of your spatula to release all the juices. Add fresh garlic, salt, pepper and dried oregano. Let this simmer while you cook your pasta!
Once your pasta is finished, add it to your tomatoes with your sausage, chopped olives, motz cheese, fresh basil and artichoke hearts. Top with red pepper flakes and grated parmesan cheese. Enjoy!!
I shared a recap of our trip to the US Virgin Islands last week! We stayed at Lovango and it was the best January warm up. I had never been to the Virgin Islands and what a cool, chill, amazing community of islands. We really had the best trip. You can read more about it here and use code ADAMS to get 10% off your stay at Lovango in 2025.
Have you seen Sezane’s new arrivals?? So many fun pieces for Spring. I ordered this top, this dress, this bracelet and my favorite cardigan in some fun colors.
Our kids are off school tomorrow and George has another day off for February break. It feels nice to lean into a long weekend. I hope you have a great start to your week! XOXO
Liz
PS: I’m making this soup tonight.
My favorite teas: Celestial’s honey vanilla chamomile; Harney and Son’s vanilla comoro; Bigelow’s lavender chamomile; Twinigs lady grey; Barry’s Irish breakfast
I’m also a new tea drinker and I’m currently loving Yogi Soothing Caramel Bedtime for post dinner bedtime tea.
