The Sunday Scoop
Our Father's Day plans, before/after of my upper bleph, what I'm reading this summer, outfits from this week, summer recipes to make and more!
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads that we adore! We had a low key weekend, soaking up some slow rainy days, we hosted family in town and crawled into bed early every night. Yesterday I read this entire book (fyi it is steamy in the best way!) which I never let myself do. George has been battling a fever since Friday and the boys were in and out between the rain and sun. I leaned in to letting everyone move at their own pace and it felt so good. A REMINDER TO LET THOSE DAYS HAPPEN THIS SUMMER! I am determined to read more and I already have a stack of books waiting. I didn’t glance at my phone once and I hope to replicate those days more often over the next 8 weeks!
These are the books I have on deck for my summer reading! Hoping to add more, please leave any recs in the comments :)
We are taking the boys on a 24 hour adventure to play golf this afternoon! We rented a house and will stay the night to explore a cute South Carolina town that Dave loves and has been dying to show me. I’m excited! I’m actually most excited to wear this cute golf dress that I’ve had no reason to wear yet (I am not a golfer). You can sign up for their restock or this color has some styles left.
Officially two weeks into summer and I have to say I feel really good! Leaning in to lack of routine and a little bit of chaos. I keep reminding myself “it’s okay to take a break” when my kids ask me to sit by the pool or watch them play basketball. Sometimes the little internal reminders or conversations with ourselves are just what we need to get through a challenging inner dialogue. I’ve also tackled quite a few areas of my home that are always lingering to-do’s in my brain. Like the drawer underneath our coffee maker, my workout clothes and the shoe bin that smells. Checking those boxes helps me feel more present and frees up my brain for enjoying little moments that I can sometimes miss.
I talked in more detail about my upper blepharoplasty surgery this week (did you see my reel on Instagram?) and funny enough, People.com shared the story, too. I got the procedure 3 weeks ago and every day I am amazed at the healing progress! My scars are still pretty apparent but will continue to fade. I have a couple little suture spots that are inflamed but going down every day. I am so happy with the results! Mostly because I very much still feel like myself but just a little brighter/refreshed.
If you’re looking for some easy recipes to make this summer I shared a few favorites from the archives! I make a version of this pasta recipe once a week. Just fresh ingredients on a light pasta with burrata. Easy peasy and always hits the spot!!

I wore this J.Crew dress this week that is truly perfect for summer. The prettiest cap sleeves, block print and airy woven fabric. It’s on sale for under $100 (I’m wearing a small). You can shop the rest of this look here.
I wore this outfit yesterday while I read my book, on our porch, with storms rolling in and out. I found a $60 alternative to these sold out shorts. I’ll basically be living in summer version of this outfit all summer - you can find mind more Americana inspired pieces that I’m loving right here.
New Zara finds are good. And check out these, too!
Things you need to know:
Bluemercury is having their summer sale! Get 20% off when you spend $200, 25% off when you spend $500 and 30% off when you spend $1000. I love a beauty sale! It’s a great time to restock on your favorites or try something new. I will for sure be ordering my favorite Vitamin C serum, Augustinus Bader Rich Cream, I always grab the big pump bottle of our favorite sunscreen for the family and a restock of the best primer that makes your skin glowy and healthy!
I ordered a bunch of these stripe sports bras to wear this summer. How cute that they are reversible! I sized up to the M/L because I have a bigger rib cage, just FYI.
Beau & Ro is one of my favorite shops here in Charleston. Their curated brands and pieces are so fresh and happy! I especially love their dresses. A few favorites include this feminine shirtdress, a dress that was made for summer travels and the most fun stripe dress! Their shop is definitely worth a good browse!
Speaking of dresses, I ordered this cutie shift dress for hot days. We don’t get dressed up much at my lake house but I always like a 4pm shower where I move from a swimsuit/coverup situation to an easy dress. This gingham dress is already laid out to be packed in my suitcase for our summer travels! I ordered this stripe tee dress, too (I don’t have nearly enough casual dresses for chasing my kids around!).
This $68 shell necklace is on its way to me (I got the pink cord!).
Just started - and almost halfway done already - Julie Chan is dead. Non-influencer twin takes over the identity of her (deceased) influencer twin. It's such a fun, quick witty read.
Broken country by Clare Leslie hall!! Fave book of 2025 thus far!
