The Sunday Scoop
- a good weekend catchup, Shopbop sale favorites, Sephora sale favorites and more!
Hi! How are you? I hope you’ve had a great weekend. Ours has been pretty perfect! The weather in Charleston right now is a DREAM. The azaleas are popping everywhere, the air is filled with a mix of floral and salty sea, the birds are laying their nests (one in our golf cart which I can’t bear to move so I guess we won’t be using that for a while) and it all just feels kind of magical. Charleston really thrives in the Spring before the humidity sets in and you’re soaking wet every time you walk outside. I have to say the bugs are pretty horrific right now, my entire family looks like we have the chicken pox but a small price to pay for the beautiful weather.
We have spent our weekend outside bopping between friends’ pools and the beach. My sister brought her 8 week old daughter down from Charlotte so my boys could meet their new cousin. It was the sweetest meeting and my boys were so proud!

Charlie had a sleepover last night and Jack and I had our own sleepover (George passed out a 7pm from a long day in the sun!). We ordered pizza and Crumbl cookies and watched a movie in bed with popcorn. Dave has been out of town for a golf trip since Thursday and can I tell you, I really thrive when Dave is gone, ha! I think it’s because I don’t have anyone to bounce ideas off of or a reaction from him that makes me second guess our plans? Instead when I’m solo with the kids we just go for it! I feel more free to just do what I want or what sounds great in that moment. I lean in to mom duties and I love the quality time spent with my boys. We have had a great weekend and I’m also ready for Dave to get home. A good balance!
Shopbop’s Spring Sale is coming up this week!
Up to 25% off your purchase with code STYLE.
The Shopbop Spring Sale launches tomorrow (you can preview it here) and honestly, their sale keeps getting better. So many new arrivals are included and wardrobe essentials that I count on in my own closet. I put together a folder of favorites and will be doing a detailed post about it tomorrow. A great time to prep your shopping cart!
A few items to note:
My favorite white tee of all time.
The best long(er) denim shorts.
A great canvas tote for travel and summer survival.
Some of my favorite off-white denim.
A pretty shell necklace.
This stripe one piece is coming with me on Spring Break.
One of my favorite sweaters!
Fun raffia platforms for spring/summer weddings!
Remember, items go so fast during this sale! I highly recommend saving the styles you love.
The Sephora Sale kicked off this weekend. I am not a huge beauty guru and sort of like what I like/don’t branch out to try new products. My friend, Grace, is someone I look to for discovering new products! I put together a collection of favorites here that I recommend and most of them have been in my rotation for a long time.
A few favorites to highlight:
This Gucci bronzer is INCREDIBLE. The most natural bronzer I’ve ever found. I use Shade 2.
Iris & Romeo Skin Cocoon is a dreamy light oil serum that absorbs quickly and leaves your skin looking so moisturized and glowy. I use it alone and sometimes apply a small dab over my makeup for a natural glow without the shimmer.
I ordered this Crown Affair dry shampoo (the powders are the only ones that don’t weigh my hair down!) and I’m so excited to try it.
InnBeauty’s Extreme Cream has quickly become my favorite moisturizer (and you can’t beat the price tag). It is firms, lifts, contours and perks up your face. It is rich feeling but dries so quickly! The perfect warm weather moisturizer. I just ordered their new eye cream to try which I’ve heard great things about!
My favorite body cream! It has caffeine in it and visibly tightens your skin, plus it smells amazing. A requirement for bathing suit season!
I love Tower 28’s blush. They are so pigmented and come in the prettiest hues.
You have to be a Sephora Beauty Insider to take part in the sale so make sure you sign up here!
In case you missed it, last week I shared my bi-weekly Q+A on helloadamsfamily.com (did you know I have a website??). I answered your questions about limiting screen time with kids, black tie wedding guest dresses, self care, special Mother’s Day jewelry and more.
Easter is coming up and you need to make this recipe! It is a family favorite in our home.
Have a lovely Sunday! I’m making this pasta recipe tonight. Yum!
xoxo
