The Sunday Scoop
All about my trip to Chicago (what I bought + the incredible meals we ate!), thoughts on moving, shopping finds and more.
I am back from a couple of days in Chicago with Shopbop! They have a pop up shop at 309 Morgan Street and let me tell you it was so fun to shop their curation in real life. It is only open for the week so if you can, make sure to stop by! I have been working with Shopbop for a few years now and it’s so fun to meet teams in real life. As social as our jobs are, the day-to-day is actually pretty isolating and it feels so encouraging to be in a room with so much creative energy. I left feeling very inspired with a full social cup, too.
Here is a preview of what you can shop in store but I specifically picked up a few things for myself -
Azeeza Rachel Midi Dress (wearing a small, do you see the gorgeous straps!?)
Splits59 Monah Dress (wearing a small)
Alemais Scarf Top (wearing a US4) + my favorite mother jeans
OSSA Strawberry Chain Phone Case (how fun is this!)
Being back in Chicago always makes me so happy. I was born and raised in the west suburbs of Chicago and lived in the city for 10 years. We moved to Charleston from Chicago in early 2021 but a part of my heart will always be there! I always feel a sense of peace when I’m there. Like an old friend who greets you with a hug. I feel so lucky to love Charleston and miss Chicago. My years there were so special and I wouldn’t change them for the world. I mentioned on my Instagram that I truly feel so lucky to be nostalgic for my own life, that’s the goal right? Seasons of life that you’re so grateful for.
We had the most delicious meals while we were in town!! I often get asked about my favorite restaurants in Chicago but the truth is I haven’t lived downtown in 9 years, I am very out of the loop! I always confide in my younger brother, who lives in Bucktown, and he said our itinerary was at some of the best. Maxwells Trading was out of this world delicious. I will dream about this meal! The sesame pancakes, ricotta, sesame cucumbers, the salad, curry sweet potatoes, literally the entire menu was a DREAM. And these wasabi margaritas were delicious!
We also had a beautiful lunch at Alla Vita and a private dinner at DOMA. I was just so blown away by the Shopbop team and all their efforts to host us to a perfect weekend.
A collection of coastal inspired summer jewelry that is sure to elevate every outfit! I can’t help myself with all of the color and fun!
In case you missed it:
These two ingredient pancakes have been on heavy rotation this summer! I now add a scoop of vanilla protein powder and some maple syrup into the batter for even more protein and a sweet flavor. My kids love these!
Not to brag but I’ve read two books in two weeks. I’m so proud of myself! I first read Problematic Summer Romance and then Every Summer After. Last night I started One Golden Summer (which is great to read after Every Summer After because there is character crossover). I always feel like I should be reading self help books but you know what, those make me not look forward to reading! I’m leaning in to a hot summer romance novel that makes me feel all the feels.
How are you? What are you reading? I’m currently listening to this playlist and dancing in my kitchen while George plays a game on my phone and I sip my coffee (just got this happy mug in the pink!!) and write this post for you. A happy kind of Sunday morning!
I also just finished problematic summer romance! Now I’m onto It’s a Love Story by Annabel Monaghan!📚
