Hi! Hope you had a wonderful weekend! We had some of our oldest friends pass through on their way to Florida for Spring Break. The kind of friends who you share so many incredible memories with (during transformative years! we all lived together from 22-30), memories like meeting our boyfriends, now spouses, sleepovers, living together, navigating new jobs in the city, staying up late, waking up early, living so freely with no money, getting married and having babies. Truly the best memories! We spent the past couple of days consumed by stories and laughs and letting our now 7 children (us 3, them 4) love on each other. It is really wild to see how much time passes and while things are so different, so much remains the same. Those are the friendships that truly have so much value in your life, the kind that remain.
Ever since my parents sold my childhood home, I have been thinking about memories and the passing of time. I read a quote recently (and immediately sent to my entire family) that said…
“Nostalgia is proof you are living a life to be proud of. How lucky are we to yearn for our own memories!”
How lucky are we to yearn for our own memories! I feel this so deeply.
Pivoting but Dave and I spent time this week shooting content like we used to do. Specifically, photographing pieces in my closet that I’m excited about and sharing some old school outfit photos on the blog. That is coming up this week!
Anyways! I am flying to Dallas this week for an exciting project that is launching in the fall (any ideas?). When I return, my 3 childhood best friends are flying in for a girls weekend! We have very few plans and I can’t wait. This time of year always means lots of visitors and it is equally part so fun and so exhausting. Ha! Grateful for all of it.
5 areas in my home that I’m organizing for Spring!
I spoke this week on the areas in my home that are in need of a serious clean/refresh for Spring. The parts that become the collect-all corners for piles, mismatched toys, expired products, etc. I have tackled our kids drawers which felt so good. Isn’t it funny how certain projects you put off assuming that they will take too long and they only take 30 minutes? I’m always reminded to get out of my own head and just start the project I’m putting off!
I shared a recipe for these yummy bison burgers inspired by a burger bar we used to go to in Chicago (it sadly closed years ago!). A great healthy alternative to a traditional burger. Let me know if you make it!!
New Shopbop hearts have me so excited for warm weather! We have had the most beautiful temperatures and sunshine here in Charleston this weekend. I ordered a few of these new arrivals like this gorgeous Farm Rio top (the pintuck detail!), this fun fancy skirt (I am a sucker for a bandana print), these shell earrings and these Frame shorts. I update these items daily based on their new arrivals and it is a great way to see what I’m eyeing/shopping!
We did a big roundup of the prettiest wedding guest dresses on Hello Adams Family. So many dresses that are honestly perfect for all special occasions on the calendar this Spring - engagement parties, bridal showers, fancy luncheons or celebrations.
5 things I loved this week:
I have this shirred dress in 2 colors from past few years, it is the best fit! I always get excited to see it launch in new colors. You should also check out these jean shorts.
This little linen swing dress from Quince would be so versatile for spring/summer. Plus, it’s $60!
I’m still loving my Ziip Halo so much! The results are instant. Use my code ADAMS for a discount.
I have this Alemais shirtdress in my cart and I think it would be perfect for Spring Break!
How cute is this little bamboo handle bag? Very Gucci! I ordered the blue!
I’ve been deleting Instagram on the weekends and just spending way less time on my phone. My kids are getting to the age (mostly Charlie and Jack who are 7 and 9) where they don’t want their photos taken. Little insecurities and knowing that my job involves posting photos has them on high alert. Anyways, highly recommend giving yourself a little social break and finding yourself on Substack. It feels so nice to share these recaps of all of my platforms here.
I hope you have a lovely Sunday! I’m off to a swim lesson for George and then meeting some friends for a little brunch/kiddo playdate.
xoxo
