We got a new couch delivered for our playroom yesterday! We had it designed with a designer so I don’t have a link (the pillows too). Our heart art if by Kiira Gonzalez, our rug is Annie Selke, our window treatments are Hunter Douglas and our rattan pendant from Serena & Lily (currently 50% off!).
It is a beautiful morning here in Charleston!
We had the laziest day yesterday. I often struggle committing to days like this (especially when the weather is nice), worried that I need to make plans for the kids or ensure enough time is spent outside. But I COMMITTED yesterday. My kids rotted on the couch, George watched hours of tv, I purged our playroom and went through piles and we caught up on laundry. I did not leave our house once except to enjoy a margarita on the porch. We made homemade pizzas, some friends stopped by and my parents came over for dinner. It was honestly perfect and a day we all needed.
As I mentioned above we got a new couch delivered yesterday which meant we had to move the old couch out. It had been about a year since I had cleaned behind it and let’s just say WOW. The amount of boogers wiped on the wall, chewed up gum stuck to the floor, wrappers, half eaten snacks and other random shit. Why are kids so gross? I had to snap a photo to remember these special moments of parenthood.
On Friday we went out to dinner with my parents. We tried to go to Chubby Fish but I didn’t get downtown in time so we visited their new bar, Seahorse (it’s so cute + has some bites from the Chubby Fish kitchen) and then got a last minute reservation at Fig. It ended up being the perfect night. How cute are my parents? Their two months in Charleston officially ends on Friday and I’m going to miss them so much. Luckily, we will be in Wisconsin the entire month of July which I know will be here before we know it.
Today we are taking the kids out on a boat! We belong to a boat club here in Charleston which is such a fun thing to have. Dave had to take a boating coarse to be able to drive the boat (he grew up on the water in Michigan but oceans are a whole new world!) and it is my favorite weekend activity when the weather is warm. It is also the Blessing of the Fleet today which celebrates the start of shrimping season. All the shrimp boats get decked out and it will be so fun to cruise by them on the water.
I can’t begin to tell you the amount of requests we’ve been receiving for spring items at a good price point and we rounded up a big collection of favorites under $150! A few favorite to highlight are this cute tomato top (I ordered it!), my favorite stripe tee, this little gingham mini, this fruit printed top (the wrap skirt is $159 but worth a look, too), these mesh gingham flats, this stripe straw bag and gorgeous this skirt. So many items are well under $100 so check the collection out here!
I shared a recipe for my current hyperfixation salad recipe! It is packed with protein and yummy salty flavors. The full video can be see on my Instagram here.
I have some fun meals on the docket this week including the yummiest greek salmon recipe that my whole family loves. We are also putting together a Mother’s Day gift guide that I am excited to share. More to come! xoxo
Liz, I think you are killing it with your Substack! I look so forward to reading it every week! Also, I love when you show photos of your beautiful mom! I’m only a few years younger than her and she inspires me because she is still so lovely and fashionable : ) I feel like society has these rules for older women that you shouldn’t wear certain things, have your hair a certain way, etc… And quite frankly, it’s sad if you still feel young and vibrant inside. She is gorgeous and inspires me to just wear the shorts or the dress that shows my arms! I love her matching shorts set in the photo you posted! Fabulous!🤩😊
