The Biggest Shift I've Had to Make Since Becoming A Mom
...and it is still something I struggle with most days.
My schedule.
I miss my schedule so much. I used to be such a creature of routine before I had kids. I am someone who really thrives in the morning. Waking up early, knocking out a couple hours of work with my coffee and committing to the day. The morning sets the tone for what I’m going to accomplish and it has been the hardest adjustment since my kids took over my morning routine.
I think the biggest shift is generally feeling more distracted. My kids are early risers which doesn’t allow for many productive mornings while everyone is still asleep. My older boys (Charlie and Jack) start school at 7:20am, needless to say it is a little chaotic trying to get everyone up, dressed, fed, packed up and out the door. I then pivot to getting George ready for the day, tidy up the house from the morning rush and reset for my own day ahead.
