Sunday Notes, no. 23
Highs and lows (oh boy) from the week. We have a lot to cover!
I’m wearing an old Doen dress (similar here), Steve Madden jellies, Elisa Johnson sunglasses, silver hoops, this turquoise necklace, this corded necklace and this bezel drop necklace.
What a week! This week was packed with fun work events, kids sports and school activities. I have so much to catch you up on. First of all, my parents arrived for their two month stay. They rent a cute little beach house on Sullivan’s Island and it is so much fun to lean in to life as it once was. When we moved from Chicago, we lived a mile from my parents and it was the best. The only negative about living here is that we don’t have family near by and I feel it! It is so fun to pretend we all live here for a moment in time. The kids love it, too.
here is the link to my outfit and my mom’s pretty yellow pants!
Shopbop was in Charleston this week! Which made my calendar a lot more colorful and fun. They hosted a beautiful event with Jenni Kayne at The Dunlin on Wednesday. I brought my mom out to the event and we stayed the night at the hotel which was such a treat. Shopbop opened a pop up on King Street for the next week and it is beautiful. You can browse the selection here but highly recommend shopping in person. There is something about seeing the clothes in real life.

This week also marked five years of living in Charleston! It is wild to think about how far we’ve come since our move. The biggest difference is feeling settled. We have such a wonderful community here, our boys are thriving, we feel supported and it just feels so good. Unfamiliarity is a strange thing. It takes a lot to find your “family” when you don’t live near your actual family. We’ve found ours and I’m so grateful.
elementary school is THE BEST. See more photos here.
Our week ended with a low. Charlie broke his arm/wrist falling off his bike yesterday. I’m off to the pediatric ortho this morning. I had a pit in my stomach all afternoon while we waited for x-rays. He was so brave and strong! As my girlfriend said, he was doing something fun and broke his arm, not a bad way to go! Better than doing something dumb and getting hurt. Parenthood is a lesson in letting your kids be kids, learning from consequences and realizing that you’re not invincible!! We had a big teaching moment yesterday and I’m so grateful he is ok. Needless to say, we are laying low today which is something we all need. Phew!
what you may have missed:
A really fun edit of the best items under $200! I’ve personally ordered quite a few items from this list and I am so excited about everything that has arrived (like this, this and this).
We have had a lot of requests for a bag edit so put together a bunch of our favorites here. I’m feeling COLOR!
It is the last day to take advantage of my Anthropologie code!! LIZ20 gets you 20% off your purchase. We put together a big collection of our current favorites on their site. My entire look from the other day (seen here) is also included. This bag is honestly a must, under $100 and comes in 5 colors and the quality is so good.
shop this look here!
Lots of fun in Substack lately…

I bought fresh tuna to make tuna poke bowls tonight and plan to hang by the pool with my kids this afternoon. Hope you have a wonderful Sunday and week ahead.

Poor Charlie! At least it isn’t in the middle of summer and he has to navigate a cast daily for swimming!! Little less temptation in March?
