Moving to Charleston 4 years ago has really transformed my personal style. Gone are the days of black jeans and tees! It feels good to let my colorful personal style shine year round. I find myself visualizing how I can incorporate these fun pieces in my closet even when they don’t feel necessarily in season. This mindset is what helps me determine what feels like a good investment or not.
I am a novelty shopper. I don’t usually feel like myself in a tee and jeans. I’m always looking for something fun/happy because that’s what makes me feel the most confident. I really try to maximize my special pieces. I am inspired by those who let their style shine through in everything that they wear (Natalie Steen is a good example). Even though pieces that Natalie wears may not be appropriate for my personal style or life, I am always intrigued by her selections and combinations. It serves as a reminder to wear the things that bring you joy! Despite them being trendy or in season.
